Our Mission The mission of Delano School is to develop the whole child through integrating a quality instructional program in all areas which focuses on academic mastery of standards, individual development and social needs involving parents, community members and school personnel encouraging the development of responsible productive members of the community.
School/Community Profile Edward C. Delano Elementary School, home of
the Wolverines, is located at 3937 West Adams Street. This facility,
located on the west side of Chicago, is a component of an economically and
physically deprived area known as the East Garfield Park Community.
Embraced by region three-area seven of the Chicago Public School System,
the faculty and staff committed to 416 students distributed among the
following programs: Headstart through Grade Eight, Learning Disabled,
Speech Correction, Emotionally Disturbed, and Behavior Disordered.
Enrichment and extra curricular activities are offered to students during
after school programs. Ninety-seven (98) percent of the students are
African-American.
